We teamed up with wonderful people from #CookForUkraine 🌻 who have been doing tremendous work raising serious money for UNICEF
To celebrate Ukrainian culture, we made one of the absolute hits in Ukrainian dessert menu – Honey Cake.
Honey sweetness is nicely balanced by soured cream used for icing and layers between the sponges. Mountain flowers honey from MISHKA range would be the best option for this cake.
Single-source artisan honeys are sought after the world over for their unique flavours and health-giving properties. And then there’s that other wonderful thing about them. Behind every jar of real honey are real people – lovely, dedicated people who work so hard to keep their bees happy and healthy all year round. As you might imagine, keeping bees well in the famously hard Siberian winter is a huge challenge.
We were over the moon to receive such complimentary feedback about MISHKA Honey from well-known British honey expert and sommelier Sarah Wyndham Lewis.
This is a brilliant step forward for MISHKA Honey and gives us great encouragement to continue on our journey.
Ah, but it seemed so simple back then, in the British summer of 2021. I would visit the lovely traditional beekeepers of Altai — a remote region of Siberia – and ask them to begin sending me small shipments of their exquisite, pure, single-source honeys.
We have to protect the world’s sources of real, natural regional honeys before it’s too late.
